API Key edition.

To edit your API Key, you need to press the "Edit" button next to the respective API Key.

The pop-up window will appear, where you can edit the following:

  1. Permissions (enable or disable):

    1. Read (is enabled by default and can not be disabled));

    2. Trade;

    3. Funds Internal;

    4. Funds Wallet;

    5. Funds External.

    Each API method stated in API documentation indicates the required API Key permission level for such action. Please, see the API documentation for details.

  2. IP Whitelist (add or delete).

    In case you wish to copy-paste several IP addresses, they should be separated from each other by spaces, semicolons(“;”), or commas (“,”). The system will automatically identify them.

    If the existing API Key should work from any IP address - the IP Whitelist field should be left empty.

Once you performed the changes, you need to enable the checkbox confirming your acknowledgment that the edited API key will be deactivated after changes and should be additionally be activated afterward.

After enabling the checkbox you’ll see two buttons on the bottom of this pop-up window

  • Save - will open the 2FA confirmation pop-up window, where you need to confirm API Key edition via 2FA.

  • Cancel - will discard all changes and close this pop-up window.

Please pay attention that in case the 2FA SMS confirmation method is chosen in your CEX.IO account, the verification code sent to your phone via SMS will expire in 5 minutes. In this case, you need to request a new verification code.

In case you didn't get the SMS code after 2 minutes "Resend" button would appear and you would be able to resend the code.

Once, the SMS/OTP security step is passed, you will need to activate the edited API Key.

  • Activate - will open the Email confirmation pop-up window, where you need to confirm API Key activation via Email.

    If you accomplish the activation step you will see the successful pop-up window.

  • Activate Later, which will close this pop-up window.

    If you decide to activate API Key later you should click on the "ACTIVATE LATER" button. Note that your API Key would be updated but needs to be activated later on!

If you'll need to temporarily stop permissions for a certain API Key follow this link to find the guideline to temporarily deactivates API Key.
